Mr. Murtadha Abdul Amir Mohammed, a lecturer in the Department of Radiology Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, organized an introductory workshop entitled “Recording Student Attendance in Lectures Using Blended Learning.” The workshop was held as part of the department’s scientific activities aimed at developing the educational process and promoting the use of modern technologies in university education. The workshop focused on transforming the traditional student absence and attendance system into a more organized and efficient digital system by using Macros in Microsoft Excel. This approach helps simplify the process of recording attendance, managing student data, and improving the accuracy and efficiency of documentation. During the workshop, the lecturer highlighted the importance of employing blended learning, which combines face-to-face teaching with modern digital tools. This method contributes to improving lecture management, facilitating the monitoring of student participation, and enhancing academic data organization. The workshop also included practical demonstrations on how to design electronic attendance sheets using Excel and how to utilize macro tools to automate routine tasks, saving time and effort. The session witnessed active engagement from both students and faculty members. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to keeping pace with technological developments in higher education and strengthening digital skills among students and staff, in line with digital transformation efforts and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education and improving the efficiency of educational institutions.
