March 27, 2026 – The Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques organized a specialized scientific workshop titled “Water and Beauty” as part of the World Water Day activities, with wide participation from students and academic staff. The workshop aimed to highlight the vital role of water in maintaining overall body and skin health. Discussions focused on its effect in accelerating skin recovery after surgical procedures, enhancing skin elasticity, preserving its freshness and youthfulness, and supporting various vital body functions. The workshop was presented by Dr. Shaimaa Adel Khudair, who outlined the main health and cosmetic benefits of water, referencing recent scientific research confirming its importance for skin and body health. The session also addressed ways to incorporate adequate water intake into daily routines for optimal health and cosmetic results, linking these concepts to practical applications in medical laboratories. The workshop witnessed significant student engagement through scientific questions and in-depth discussions regarding the use of water in skincare and post-surgical recovery, in addition to exchanging practical experiences and observations among participants. During the workshop, Dr. Shaimaa emphasized the importance of raising student awareness about water as an essential element for general health and prevention of skin problems, noting that understanding this relationship contributes to preparing scientific professionals capable of connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications in medical laboratory techniques. This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the department to enhance students’ scientific and health awareness, connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and support participation in global events that shed light on critical health issues, thereby contributing to the development of students’ practical and intellectual skills.
