On Thursday, March 26, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Ali Salman conducted a scientific workshop titled “Water Pollution: Modern Challenges and Treatment Strategies” via Google Meet, with the participation of a number of faculty members, students, and individuals interested in environmental issues. This workshop was part of a series of scientific activities organized by the department, aiming to enhance environmental awareness and highlight contemporary issues related to water pollution and ways to address them. The workshop aimed to introduce the most important modern challenges facing water resources in light of industrial development and urban expansion. It also reviewed the most prominent water pollution treatment strategies using both traditional and modern methods, with a focus on advanced technologies for pollutant removal. In addition, the workshop discussed the various types of water pollutants and their impact on the environment and human health, as well as the latest scientific solutions and technologies used in water purification and sustainable treatment methods. The workshop witnessed significant interaction from participants, with many questions and discussions that enriched the session and enhanced the scientific understanding of the attendees. At the conclusion of the workshop, emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting modern scientific solutions in water pollution treatment and the necessity of preserving water resources to ensure their sustainability for future generations.
