In accordance with the Student Empowerment and Soft Skills Development Program, the Biomedical Engineering Department at Future University held a specialized workshop entitled "Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills." The workshop was presented by Engineer Hassanein Hadi Hussein and attended by a number of students from various academic levels within the department.
Workshop Objectives:
The workshop aimed to highlight modern scientific methods for addressing academic and professional challenges. The main topics covered included:
• Understanding the meaning of a problem: and how to diagnose its root causes within the engineering and medical work environment.
• Solution steps: recognizing the logical sequence of problem-solving steps from analysis to implementation.
• Decision-making: using simple and effective methods to make well-informed decisions during critical times.
• Avoiding mistakes: raising awareness of common errors that individuals may make when making decisions and how to avoid them.
Practical Aspect:
The workshop included direct interaction with students, presenting realistic scenarios that simulate the technical and administrative problems that biomedical engineers might encounter in hospitals and research centers, and demonstrating how to employ critical thinking to arrive at the most suitable solutions. Department Vision:
This workshop is part of a series of scientific and educational activities adopted by the Biomedical Engineering Department to enhance students’ skills beyond the academic curriculum, to ensure the preparation of graduates who are capable leaders and technically, able to keep pace with the requirements of the engineering labor market.
