A comprehensive awareness campaign was launched in the Biomedical Engineering Department under the slogan "Sustainability: A Shared Responsibility for a Sustainable World." In line with international efforts to promote environmental conservation and as part of Future University's pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Biomedical Engineering Department organized a field awareness campaign entitled "Sustainability: A Shared Responsibility for a Sustainable World," targeting students and faculty members.
Supervised by Engineer Baraa Mahdi Saleh and Programmer Zahraa Abdul Zaid, the campaign aimed to establish sustainability as a way of life, not just a slogan, by focusing on the following key areas:
• Protecting our planet: Raising awareness that preserving natural resources is the only guarantee for the rights of future generations.
• Balanced use: Explaining how to use current resources in a balanced way that meets present needs without harming the environment or society.
• Individual and society: Emphasizing that change begins with simple individual behaviors that accumulate to create a global impact.
Field activities included distributing informational brochures designed by the students themselves, illustrating in a simple and visual way the importance of climate action and collective responsibility. The campaign also witnessed lively discussions within the department between students and organizing committees to exchange ideas on developing innovative "green" engineering solutions to serve the medical sector.
Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
This initiative aims to enhance the university's ranking in global sustainability classifications, directly supporting:
