The Engineering Technical College Holds a Training Workshop on Program Accreditation Requirements for Engineering Program

The Engineering Technical College held a training workshop on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM, titled “Requirements for Obtaining Program Accreditation for Engineering Technology Programs in Iraqi Universities,” in the conference hall of the engineering building, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, heads of scientific departments, and members of quality assurance units. The workshop included a training lecture delivered by Professor Dr. Saad Mutasher Abbas, who reviewed the standards of program accreditation and the mechanisms for preparing its requirements. He addressed several key topics, including the concept and importance of program accreditation, approved standards, learning outcomes and methods of measuring them, as well as continuous evaluation and improvement mechanisms, documentation requirements, preparation of accreditation files, and the role of scientific departments in achieving quality standards. The workshop witnessed distinguished interaction from attendees through discussions and questions, contributing to enhancing the implementation of quality standards and academic accreditation, and improving the scientific level of engineering programs, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education. This workshop comes as part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts—ranked first among private universities in Iraq—to support the quality of higher education and develop academic programs according to international standards. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first among private universities in Iraq.
