The Head of the Optometry Department at the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Munther Samin Shaker, chaired a specialized and extensive meeting including the department coordinator and the heads of scientific and administrative committees. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing operational plans and following up on the completion of comprehensive quality assurance requirements to ensure enhanced academic performance and elevated organizational standards. The meeting was held under the slogan: "Performance Governance and Quality Reporting: Pillars of Institutional Excellence," with the objective of reviewing mechanisms for preparing and auditing periodic reports, both monthly and annually. Dr. Munther Samin Shaker emphasized during the meeting the necessity for these reports to accurately and transparently reflect all scientific achievements and practical activities, in alignment with the national and international academic accreditation standards adopted by the university. The agenda included a detailed review of the specialized committees' tasks, with an emphasis on adhering to the specific timelines for submitting technical data and reports. Participants also discussed ways to develop academic documentation mechanisms and automate certain administrative procedures to ensure timely completion and accurate outputs, as well as enhancing integration between various committees to achieve the department's vision of providing leading medical and technical education. The session witnessed extensive discussions regarding administrative challenges and ways to overcome them, where the Head of the Department praised the efforts made by the teaching and administrative staff in maintaining a smooth workflow. He affirmed that concerted efforts in following up on quality files are the true guarantee for the sustainability of the excellence achieved by the department in scientific forums. These periodic meetings are part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategy to improve institutional performance efficiency and ensure the quality of educational outcomes, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education.
