The integration with prompt generation tools means users no longer need to build every instruction from scratch in a difficult way. This is closely related to prompt engineering, which OpenAI defines as the process of writing effective instructions so the model consistently produces outputs that meet user requirements. OpenAI also notes that good prompting depends on clarity, context, and expected format, and that prompting strategies can vary depending on the type of model being used. This integration becomes more powerful when ChatGPT connects to external tools. According to OpenAI’s Help Center, connectors are now presented within the broader concept of Apps in ChatGPT, which bring tools and data into ChatGPT so users can search, reference information, and work faster without leaving the conversation. Some apps can even take actions on a user’s behalf, run deep research across multiple sources with citations, or sync content in advance so relevant information is available on demand. A strong example of this is integration with developer workflows and command-line environments. OpenAI’s official Codex CLI documentation states that the tool runs locally in the terminal and can read code, edit files, and run commands in the selected directory. It also supports web search, MCP-based extensions, and approval modes before edits or commands are executed. This shows how ChatGPT can move from being only a response system to becoming an operational assistant inside real workflows. From the perspective of intelligent search, the value is not only in retrieving information, but in organizing it into a conversational structure that is easier to understand and continue.
