A specialized practical lecture was conducted for students of the Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies, held within the Oil Refining Laboratory on March 30, 2026. It addressed the practical testing of Pour Point and Cloud Point for petroleum products, emphasizing their significance in evaluating oil behavior at low temperatures.
The session included measuring these two properties using laboratory equipment, where the sample was cooled gradually to observe the temperature of wax crystal formation, as well as determining the lowest flow point.
Presented by Eng. Tabarak Mohsen Ashour, the lecture witnessed active student participation, providing them the opportunity to apply inspection procedures under direct supervision. This contributed to strengthening their laboratory skills and linking theoretical concepts to real-world applications.
This scientific activity translated the university's commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education, by equipping promising cadres with the technical expertise required by international standards in the petroleum industry.
