The College of Nursing at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a practical training session for first-year students on April 5, 2026, held in the college halls, as part of the Practical Physiology course. This initiative comes as part of the college’s efforts to enhance practical skills and link theoretical knowledge with hands-on application.
The session included a practical lecture titled (Blood Group and Rh), delivered and supervised by Dr. Ismail Mohammed Al-Saadi. The lecture provided both scientific and practical explanations of blood groups according to the ABO system and the Rh factor, highlighting the clinical importance of determining blood type in various medical practices, particularly in blood transfusions and emergency cases.
The session also featured hands-on training, where students learned how to determine blood groups using the (Slide Method) and understood the mechanism of (Agglutination) for accurately identifying blood types, under direct supervision in the laboratory.
The training witnessed strong student engagement, as participants actively performed the practical steps themselves, helping to enhance their laboratory skills and deepen their understanding by linking theory with practice.
This activity aims to prepare competent nursing professionals capable of performing essential medical procedures efficiently, while contributing to improving the quality of healthcare services provided to the community, in alignment with the third Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-being).
At the end of the session, the college administration emphasized the importance of continuing such training programs, given their vital role in supporting the educational process and advancing students’ academic and practical competencies.
