On the sidelines of the 11th Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE 2026), Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, met with the Turkish Minister of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Erol Özvar, Chairman of the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The meeting focused on exploring prospects for academic cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and leading Turkish universities, with particular emphasis on several key areas: Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence: Discussions addressed expanding educational opportunities in digital technologies. Prof. Özvar highlighted Türkiye’s advanced programs in cybersecurity and innovative educational models supporting the health and digital agriculture sectors. Green Technology and Sustainability: Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi emphasized Al-Mustaqbal University’s strong commitment to climate change, resource management, renewable energy, and the green economy, noting that these fields are key priorities in the university's strategic plans. Curriculum Development and the Bologna Process: The President of Al-Mustaqbal University reviewed ongoing efforts to modernize academic curricula in alignment with the Bologna Process, ensuring quality education and compatibility with international standards. At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi presented a symbolic gift representing the heritage of Babylon (Lion of Babylon) to Minister Özvar, expressing pride in cultural and academic ties and appreciation for the Turkish Council of Higher Education’s role in supporting international cooperation.
