Launching the Second Scientific Course at Al-Mustaqbal University on Stress Reduction Techniques and the Diagnosis and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Majdi, and with the support of the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center at the university, launched the second scientific course entitled “Stress Reduction Techniques: Diagnosis and Treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.” The course was held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the Psychological Counseling Unit in the college. The course aimed to enhance psychological awareness among students and faculty members and to enable participants to understand post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including its diagnostic methods and treatment approaches using modern therapeutic and psychometric techniques. This contributes to improving the ability to deal with various psychological cases within the university environment and the wider community. The course, prepared by the Head of the Psychological Counseling Unit, Professor Dr. Thanaa Baha Al-Din Abdullah, included theoretical lectures addressing the concept of PTSD and its diagnostic procedures, followed by practical training sessions, in addition to online lectures designed to strengthen both theoretical and applied understanding. The opening ceremony was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Ahmed Al-Jundi, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Lecturer Hussein Al-Shammari, and the Head of the Legal Affairs Unit, Assistant Lecturer Al-Hasan Roudhan. The attendees emphasized the importance of such programs in supporting mental health and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). This course is part of the annual continuing education plan of the College of Education, reflecting the university’s commitment to developing participants’ psychological and scientific skills and enhancing the quality of counseling services provided within the university.#College_of_Education #AlMustaqbal_University
