Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Mazen Hadi, Al-Mustaqbal University hosted a distinguished theatrical performance titled “Liquid Gold,” presenting a profound artistic vision of one of today’s most pressing environmental issues: sustainability and water scarcity. The play was directed by Assistant Lecturer Hussein Lutfi and written by Hussein Ali. It addressed the water crisis through a human-centered artistic approach, highlighting its growing impact on human life and the future of coming generations. The performance symbolically portrayed water as “true gold,” emphasizing its vital importance and its essential role in sustaining life. Through a cohesive dramatic structure, the play depicted the struggles of communities facing drought and declining water resources, along with the escalating environmental and humanitarian challenges. Furthermore, the play stressed the importance of raising public awareness about water conservation, rational consumption, and the adoption of sustainable behaviors to preserve this vital resource. The performance received remarkable engagement from the audience, who praised its artistic quality and creative direction, successfully balancing theatrical aesthetics with a meaningful awareness message—demonstrating the vital role of art in addressing societal issues and promoting environmental consciousness.
