As part of supporting applied activities and enhancing practical skills, the Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted a specialized scientific activity involving the creation of a virtual crime scene simulating a mysterious incident, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, supervised by the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and followed up by the Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbana.
This activity comes in line with the department’s efforts to develop students’ skills in criminal investigation through realistic practical applications. Students actively participated in collecting evidence from the simulated scene, analyzing fingerprints and bloodstain patterns, and reviewing forensic medical reports.
Through detailed scientific analysis, the incident—initially staged as a suicide—was revealed to be a premeditated murder, enhancing students’ ability to detect inconsistencies and analyze evidence professionally.
The organizers emphasized the importance of such practical training in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world application, and in preparing students to effectively handle complex criminal cases, particularly those involving manipulated crime scenes.
The activity received wide praise from attendees for its accuracy and professional presentation, reflecting the advanced academic level of the students and the effectiveness of academic supervision.
This initiative aligns with the university’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
