The Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a specialized scientific laboratory on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, titled “Forensic Hematology Techniques: Venipuncture and Blood Typing Analysis.” The lab was conducted under the direct supervision of the academic staff and with active participation from the department’s students, as part of its strategy aimed at strengthening the integration between theoretical knowledge and practical application, and preparing qualified scientific cadres capable of meeting the requirements of forensic and laboratory fields. This activity comes as part of the department’s commitment to providing an advanced practical learning environment that contributes to developing students’ skills, enhancing their self-confidence, and reinforcing the principles of accuracy and responsibility in handling biological evidence. The laboratory aimed to develop students’ practical skills and strengthen their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in a real scientific context, through training in venipuncture techniques and blood typing procedures, according to precise scientific principles and approved professional safety standards. The lab included intensive hands-on training covering the full process of blood sample collection, starting from selecting the appropriate vein, following sterilization procedures, and safely handling laboratory equipment, to ensuring sample quality and accuracy. It also addressed the scientific methods used in blood typing, highlighting common errors and how to avoid them, while emphasizing the importance of these skills in forensic science and laboratory analysis. The laboratory witnessed outstanding student engagement, providing them with direct practical experience that enhances their competencies and prepares them to effectively enter forensic and laboratory work environments. The academic staff emphasized that such practical activities reflect the department’s commitment to delivering integrated scientific education, enabling students to acquire advanced and precise skills, thereby improving educational outcomes and supporting community service.
