On the Occasion of Sustainability Week… AL-Mustaqbal University Announces a Distinguished Scholarly Publication in Biochemistry
On the occasion of Sustainability Week, and as part of its continuous efforts to support scientific research and advance academic curricula, AL-Mustaqbal University has announced the publication of a distinguished scientific work in the field of biochemistry. Professor Dr. Fadhil Jawad Al-Tu’ma, a faculty member in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, and Professor Emeritus at the College of Medicine – University of Karbala, has authored a book entitled:
Medical Aspects of Lipid Metabolism – Part Two
This publication is primarily intended for students of biological sciences, basic medical sciences, and pharmacy.
The book was co-authored with Professor Dr. Zeina Abdulmunim Al-Jawadi from the College of Science – University of Mosul. It has received official approvals to be adopted as both a core and supplementary textbook for undergraduate and postgraduate students across medical, pharmaceutical, biological, and clinical laboratory disciplines, in addition to certain specialties within the Iraqi Board of Medical Specializations.
The book addresses the medical and biological aspects of lipid metabolism, comprising fourteen comprehensive scientific chapters that explore various types of lipids and their association with prevalent modern diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases and atherosclerosis. It is presented in an advanced scientific style that aligns with the latest developments in the field. The book spans over 700 pages and includes more than 1,000 multiple-choice questions with answers, thereby enhancing students’ analytical skills, comprehension, and academic preparedness.
This publication aligns with the strategic directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
