Under the patronage of the respected Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, the Anesthesia Techniques Department held an awareness campaign about diabetes for children. Students were educated about the effect of excessive consumption of sugars and sweets, the dangers of the disease, and what the nature of healthy eating protects them from. The explanation was also done through brochures and pictures for children, as well as raising on the bulletin board examples of awareness leaflets about the symptoms of the disease, its prevention and its risks.Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. Insulin is a hormone that controls the level of glucose in the blood.
