Under the patronage of the distinguished President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and within the framework of the requirements of the research project: The role of universities in confronting climate change, the management of the Scientific Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Department of Anesthesia Technologies and in effective cooperation with the Babylon Agriculture Directorate, organized a afforestation campaign aimed at addressing the challenges of climate change. . The campaign included planting 160 plants of various varieties, including Eucalyptus, Casuarina, Didonia, and Albizia. This joint effort reflects the university’s vision of taking effective steps towards improving the environment in Iraq, and highlights its prominent role in confronting environmental challenges and effectively contributing to addressing the effects of climate change.<br /><br />The plants were chosen with great care, taking into account their appropriate water consumption and their ability to resist drought. These efforts come as part of the university's endeavor to achieve leadership in implementing high-quality projects that serve Babil Governorate and contribute effectively to the sustainable development of all of Iraq. These initiatives reflect the university's commitment to making effective and sustainable contributions in the field of environmental protection and promoting environmental sustainability at the local and national levels.
