Under the patronage of the distinguished President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies held an awareness campaign about seasonal influenza, where some of the department’s teachers distributed awareness brochures to some school students to raise their awareness and introduce them to the disease.<br />Seasonal influenza is an acute respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses. They are common all over the world and spread easily between people when they cough or sneeze. Vaccination is the best way to prevent the disease. Flu symptoms include acute onset of fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue.<br />Treatment should aim to relieve symptoms. People with influenza should rest and drink plenty of fluids. Most people recover from the disease spontaneously within a week. Medical care may be needed for severe cases and people exposed to risk factors
