Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, the Department of Anesthesia Techniques held a practical workshop on cases of suffocation and the best ways to deal with them. This workshop is considered an essential part of first aid, which plays a vital role in saving the lives of others. Choking occurs when an object enters the throat or windpipe, blocking the airway. Adults are usually caused by a piece of food. As for young children, they often choke on small objects. Suffocation is life-threatening, as it cuts off oxygen to the brain. Therefore, first aid should be provided as soon as possible when you or someone else is choking.
