<br />Part of its continuous pursuit of excellence in all fields, and to embody the Slogan adopted by Al-Mustaqbal University "Towards a Sustainable University", the Field of Renewable Energy has occupied the largest share, through the adoption of a variety of Solar Energy Systems that are used to generate electricity and meet the Buildings Requirements and other Service Facilities within the University Campus.<br />It is remarkable to note that Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, has pointed out in a Statement released to the University Media that the issue of Energy has become a major challenge at both Local and International Levels. Accordingly, and from this standpoint and belief in the role of University and Academic Institutions in finding solutions and alternatives to confront Energy Challenges, and with the Scientific Expertise they do possess, Al-Mustaqbal University has adopted a number of Initiatives, which include, at a practical level, the use of Solar Energy Panels in many Buildings and Service Facilities within the University Campus, where the total area of ​​the Panels has reached 550 Square Meters to achieve varying percentages of electrical current requirements up to 42% of what the University needs.<br />At the Academic Level, Renewable Energy has had the largest share in the University Scientific Research Movement, in addition to organizing many Workshops, Discussion Circles, and Awareness Campaigns that all aim to rationalizing Energy Consumption, adopting Smart Systems, and gradually shifting to the use of Solar Energy, in addition to establishing Al-Mustaqbal Renewable Energy Center, being equipped with the latest devices and equipment in order to be a destination for Researchers in this Vital Field.<br />Assist Prof Dr. Azher Muhsin Abid, Dean of the Engineering College, is in charge of the Renewable Energy Issue, and a Specialist in this Field, has pointed out in his Speech that the Distinctive Status of Al-Mustaqbal University in the Field of Renewable Energy has been clearly demonstrated in the Results of the TIMES IMPACT 2024 Ranking, which indicates that our University has achieved a Rank between 101-200 Globally in SDG 7: Clean and Affordable Energy, in addition to the Advanced Positions achieved by the University in SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production and SDG 13: Climate Action, being a natural result of the Initiatives adopted by the University in the Field of Renewable Energy, which mainly contribute to reducing Carbon Emissions, Air Pollution, and achieving Energy Independence.<br />Finally, we are obliged to note that the University President has concluded his Speech by stressing the need to move ahead towards expanding the scope of work in the field of Renewable Energies, supporting Projects and Initiatives in this direction.
