In order to achieve the slogan "Towards a Sustainable University" and to achieve the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being), the Department of Anesthesia Technology held the Third International AL_mustaqbal Forum for Medical Technologies and Anesthesia, which coincided with the celebration of World Anesthesia Day, the day that witnessed the first successful anesthesia operation in 1846.<br /><br />The forum was held under the slogan "Future Without Addiction" and included specialized scientific lectures given by a group of doctors and technicians specialized in the field of anesthesia and intensive care. The lectures focused on the history of anesthesia and the latest technologies used in this field, in addition to intensive care.<br /><br />The President of the University also indicated in his speech during the forum that Future University always seeks to support and develop the health care sector by holding such important scientific events, which contribute to the exchange of experiences and knowledge among specialists. He stressed the university's commitment to providing an appropriate academic environment to develop the technical skills of students and health cadres, ensuring that they keep pace with the latest scientific developments in the field of anesthesia and intensive care, and strengthening partnerships with leading health institutions.<br /><br />The forum also included active participation from the Babylon Health Department, where a practical training course was organized on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), with the participation of students from the Department of Anesthesia Techniques, which added a practical dimension to the forum.<br /><br />The forum also witnessed an exhibition of medical devices for anesthesia and intensive care techniques, held by specialized companies such as "Blue Lighthouse" Company, where attendees had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in this field. On the sidelines of the forum, an art exhibition was held that included paintings created by students from the Department of Anesthesia Techniques, in addition to an exhibition of models of human body parts, which added a creative dimension to the event.<br /><br />The forum was attended by a large number of academics and specialists from inside and outside the university, including Consultant Dr. Fadhel Al-Sultani, Director of Marjan Hospital, Consultant Dr. Ali Najeh Al-Awadi from the College of Medicine at Al-Kafeel University, and other prominent figures.<br /><br />As part of the forum's activities, the second-year students of the Department of Anesthesia Technology presented a theatrical performance that embodied the negative effects of smoking, and the performance was admired by the University President and the attendees. At the end of the forum, the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, honored the lecturers and the committee supervising the forum with certificates of appreciation, expressing his wishes for them to continue to progress and innovate in order to raise the University of the Future.
