The Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies celebrates World Osteoporosis Day through specialized scientific activities

In order to achieve the slogan “Towards a Sustainable University” and to achieve the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-Being) the Department of Anesthesia Techniques held scientific activities on the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day.<br /><br />The activities included a group of specialized scientific lectures given by prominent doctors in the field of orthopedics and fractures. Consultant Dr. Diaa Al-Asadi, from Al-Hillah Teaching Hospital, addressed the topic of osteoporosis and methods of diagnosing it using the DEXA device, in addition to presenting risk factors and means of prevention.<br /><br />The two specialized physicists, Ghassan Thabet and Hussein Raed, from Marjan Teaching Hospital, also gave a lecture on how to use the DEXA device and read the results related to diagnosing osteoporosis.<br /><br />The activities witnessed a distinguished presence by professors and students of the Department of Anesthesia Techniques, as the scientific sessions were managed by Assistant Professor Dr. Aqil Hanzel Al-Jawdhari, with the specialist Dr. Talib Jijan as a rapporteur.<br /><br />At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturers and the management of the scientific sessions by Professor Dr. Mahdi, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, with calls for further progress and innovation in this field.
