Professor Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Mirdas, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, participated with a scientific paper at the CENIM 2024 International Conference. The presentation included the paper titled:

“Discovery of the QRS Complex in Multielectrode Electrocardiogram Signals Using Filtering and Standard Deviation.”

Electrocardiography (ECG) is a test that helps diagnose certain heart conditions by measuring the electrical activity of the heart. In this research paper, new detection algorithms were proposed, which rely on a high detection rate and serve as an active foundation for processing ECG signals.

The performance of the proposed algorithm was evaluated using the Saint Petersburg INCART database, which contains 12 leads. Experimental results demonstrated a sensitivity of 99.828%, with a detection error rate of 0.636%.

This achievement is a significant contribution that enhances the department’s academic and research standing both locally and internationally.
