In order to achieve the slogan "Towards a Sustainable University", the Department of Anesthesia Technology and in order to achieve the eleventh goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and within the ongoing activities of the Department of Anesthesia Technology, the Department of Anesthesia Technology held an online scientific seminar on 12/17/2024, presented by Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Saud entitled "Environmental Impact Assessment". The seminar dealt with Environmental Impact Assessment, which is the process of evaluating the potential environmental impacts of a proposed project or development, taking into account the interrelated social, economic, cultural and health impacts, whether beneficial or harmful. Environmental Impact Assessment is a tool used to evaluate the positive and negative environmental, economic and social impacts of a project. This is used to predict the environmental impacts of a project at the pre-planning stage itself so that decisions can be made to reduce harmful impacts.<br />Objectives of Environmental Impact Assessment<br />Identify, predict and evaluate the economic, environmental and social impacts of development activities.<br />Provide information on the environmental consequences of decision-making.<br />Promote environmentally sound and appropriate development by identifying appropriate alternatives and mitigation measures.
