Ambassadors of Sustainability at the University of the Future/College of Science/Department of Biomedical Technology held an awareness seminar on extremism leading to terrorism.

Within the framework of its efforts to promote community awareness and combat extremist thought, the University of the Future, College of Science, Department of Biomedical Technology organized an awareness seminar entitled "Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism". The seminar was presented by the Honorable Dean of Law, Adel Kadhim Hashim, and was attended by the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Farat Hamza Al-Sultani, Head of the Department of Medical Technology, Dr. Husayn Khalil Ibrahim, and Secretary of the Department of Biomedical Technology, Dr. Muhammad Zahir Al-Mar'ab, as well as a selection of professors, students, and those interested in security and community affairs.<br /><br />The seminar addressed the concept of violent extremism and its causes, with a focus on its dangers to individuals and society, as well as strategies for reducing it through the promotion of a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The role of academic institutions in promoting moderate thought and supporting efforts to build a safe and stable society was also highlighted.<br /><br />This seminar comes as part of the university's contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies, ensure justice, and build strong institutions to combat violence and terrorism.<br /><br />At the conclusion of the seminar, the floor was opened for discussion and questions from the audience, with an emphasis on the importance of combining academic and community efforts to counter extremism and promote intellectual security.<br /><br />Organized by Instructor Modelah Modelah Muyed, Department of Biomedical Technology, <br />University of the Future, Iraq's First University.
