Lifestyle and diet directly affect the health of the digestive system, which is reflected in general health. In this article, we will address the most important ways to help improve digestive health and enhance its efficiency. The importance of digestive health when the digestive system works efficiently, it helps: • Absorption of nutrients necessary to support energy and immunity. • Preventing digestive problems such as constipation, bloating, and acid reflux. • Improve the health of the intestines and enhance the bacterial balance in the intestinal microbiome. Ways to improve the health of the digestive system 1. A balanced diet that directly affects the health of the digestive system. So, it is recommended: • Eat foods rich in fiber, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, as they help regulate bowel movement and prevent constipation. • Excessive probiotics and prebiotics, such as yogurt and fermented foods, to support the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. • Reducing the consumption of processed foods, which contain preservatives and added sugars, may negatively affect the health of the intestines. 2. Drink enough water • Water helps improve bowel movement and prevent constipation. • It is best to drink at least 8 cups a day to support digestive functions. 3. Regular physical activity • Exercise such as walking and yoga help stimulate bowel movement and reduce bloating. • Exercising regularly contributes to reducing stress, which may affect the health of the digestive system. 4.
