On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Mamouri, and the Department’s Rapporteur, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mujtaba Abdul-Kadhim Flaih, with the participation of the "Sustainability Ambassadors" from the second stage students.<br /><br />This campaign was held under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and with direct support from the Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abed.<br /><br />The campaign witnessed the participation of an international delegation of environmental specialists, in addition to direct supervision by a delegation from the university presidency, adding an international dimension and institutional cooperation that reflects the university's openness to global environmental initiatives.<br /><br />This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness among students and academic staff, encouraging them to contribute to creating a healthy and sustainable university environment. It also seeks to enhance the aesthetic landscape of the campus and reduce the carbon footprint by using plants that are resilient to local climate conditions and require minimal water.<br /><br />The campaign comes as part of a series of environmental activities regularly organized by the department in support of sustainability and to promote a culture of environmental responsibility among students and the academic community. It reflects the university's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13: Climate Action.
