As Part of the Ongoing Academic Collaboration between Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Babylon: Scientific Symposium Highlights Digital Addiction as a Key Challenge of the Modern Age<br /><br />In alignment with universities’ commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and Goal 4: Quality Education—a scientific symposium was held at the College of Health and Medical Technologies – Al-Mustaqbal University, entitled:<br />"Digital Addiction and the Deep Web: Challenges of the Digital Age."<br /><br />The symposium was presented by Asst. Lecturer Alaa Hussein Al-Obaidi and Lecturer Hassan Faez Abdul-Hussein, and attended by a group of students and faculty members.<br /><br />The event addressed major psychological and social challenges resulting from excessive use of technology, shedding light on the growing phenomena of digital addiction and the deep web, along with their negative consequences on both individuals and society. It emphasized the importance of promoting safe and responsible use of modern technologies and the need to foster healthy digital behaviors—especially within academic and youth communities.<br /><br />This symposium reflects the joint efforts of Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Babylon to enhance digital and mental health awareness, and to create a safe, forward-thinking educational environment that keeps pace with rapid technological developments—contributing to the formation of a conscious generation capable of navigating the digital age intelligently.<br /><br /><br />Al-Mustaqbal University — The first university in Iraq.
