In line with the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at supporting Iraqi universities in completing the requirements for national institutional accreditation and transitioning from conditional to full accreditation, and as part of a qualitative academic initiative that reflects its deep commitment to the principles of quality and academic accreditation, Al-Mustaqbal University hosted the national training workshop titled:<br />“Addressing Conditional Institutional Accreditation Cases”, organized by the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority / Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department – Quality Assurance Division, in coordination with the Institutional Accreditation Council.<br /><br />The workshop, presented by Professor Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, representative of the Institutional Accreditation Council, was marked by the presence of several deans of colleges and a distinguished group of directors of quality assurance departments and staff working in institutional accreditation units across a number of Iraqi universities, including: University of Kufa, Al-Mustansiriyah, Al-Anbar, Karbala, Al-Muthanna, University of Technology, Mosul, Babylon, Northern Technical University, Middle Technical University, Al-Ameed, Al-Kafeel, Al-Farahidi, and Al-Mustaqbal University.<br /><br />Throughout the sessions, participants discussed mechanisms to close existing gaps, strengthen systems of continuous institutional improvement, and activate academic governance as a key approach toward achieving full accreditation.<br /><br />The workshop featured in-depth discussions and academic contributions addressing the challenges universities face during this transitional phase, along with strategies for building a qualified academic environment that advances standards of quality, academic governance, and administrative excellence.<br /><br />This workshop falls within the strategic direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Al-Mustaqbal University to promote a culture of institutional accreditation and openness to robust institutional development experiences, aligning with the requirements of international academic rankings and the Sustainable Development Goals in education.
