The Department of Dentistry at Al-Mustaqbal University College held an electronic scientific symposium entitled (Cleft lip) today, Thursday 27/1/2022 at nine in the evening, on the (google meet) platform. The head of the Department of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Athraa Yahya Mohammed Al-Hijazi, lectured and participated in the symposium, as teachers and employees of the Department of Dentistry. The symposium talked about the cleft lip, which is an opening in the upper lip that may extend to the nose. The hole may be on one side, both sides, or in the middle. I also talked about the reasons that lead to its appearance, including the transmission of genes between parents, as well as environmental factors, which include taking some medications during pregnancy, smoking or drinking alcohol during pregnancy. This symposium comes within a set of activities held by the Department of Dentistry during the first course of the current academic year.
