The Department of Biomedical Engineering is pleased to announce the preparation and publication of comprehensive information panels for the Philips BV 300 C-Arm X-ray system, as part of our ongoing efforts to document advanced equipment and enhance technical understanding of its applications in the medical field.
The C-Arm system is a vital piece of equipment in operating rooms, and the new panels are designed to document its engineering aspects and maintenance procedures.
About the C-Arm X-ray system:
• Device name: Philips BV 300 C-Arm X-ray system.
• Manufacturer: Philips (Netherlands).
• Primary function: The device provides fluoroscopy and real-time X-ray imaging. Its primary function is to guide and support surgical procedures, particularly in orthopedics, surgery, and interventional procedures, by providing continuous, high-quality images.
What do the new information panels include?
The newly prepared panels focus on the engineering and operational elements that ensure image accuracy, quality, and safety. They include:
1. Main Components: Identifying vital components such as the X-ray tube, image intensifier, monitors, and power cables.
2. Spare Parts and Accessories: Listing the most important engineering supplies, such as the footswitch, fuses, and printer, as well as software updates.
3. Preventive Maintenance Program: Highlighting the periodic maintenance schedule (daily/monthly/annual), starting with a daily inspection, through weekly testing of image quality and cables, and culminating in a full annual preventive maintenance program that includes electrical safety inspection, dose measurement, and image performance testing.
We invite all students, engineering, and technical personnel to view these panels to deepen their understanding of this advanced device and its critical role in modern healthcare.
