Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, the activities of the Third International Conference on the Future of Sustainable Energy (ICFSE 2025) commenced on Sunday, October 19, 2025, with wide participation from experts and researchers representing public and private universities, as well as delegates from government institutions and the industrial sector.
The opening session began with a speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Muzafar Al-Zuhairi, representing the university presidency, followed by a speech from the Conference Preparatory Committee presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, who emphasized the significance of the conference in strengthening academic and research collaboration at both local and international levels, and in promoting progress toward sustainable energy.
The ceremony also included a documentary presentation highlighting the university’s achievements and milestones, as well as an overview of the conference’s main themes, which focus on recent advancements in renewable energy and clean technologies.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hamed Kandil, Mansoura University, Egypt: “Solar-Powered Air Conditioning for a Sustainable Future”
These sessions witnessed active engagement from faculty members, researchers, and students, as they discussed the latest innovations in sustainable energy and addressed future challenges in this vital field. The conference underscored the importance of integration between academic and industrial sectors to advance sustainable development and realize Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision as a pioneering center for research and innovation in clean energy.
This conference is part of the university’s continuous efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 9 (SDG7 & SDG9), which focus on ensuring access to affordable and clean energy and fostering innovation and sustainable infrastructure.
