Under the patronage of the esteemed President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Associate Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, the university organized a ceremony to honor the participants and outstanding performers in the Sustainability Camp, the Future Hackathon competition, and the Third International Conference on the Future of Sustainable Energy. The event took place on Sunday, September 2, 2025, in the university’s Activities Hall.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, along with the university deputies, department heads, unit directors, academic and administrative staff, as well as the participating students and competition winners.
The event began with a beautiful recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, who emphasized the importance of supporting pioneering projects that promote a culture of sustainability within the university. He praised the efforts of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies in successfully organizing the camp, the hackathon, and the conference, and presented him with a Shield of Appreciation in recognition of his leadership and continuous support for scientific and green initiatives.
Dr. Al-Bawi highlighted that the Dean is distinguished by a practical vision that links education with sustainable development concepts, stressing that the achievements reflect the spirit of cooperation and creativity that Al-Mustaqbal University embraces in all its academic and research activities.
The ceremony included honoring the faculty members and students who excelled in the Sustainability Camp and the Future Hackathon, alongside the participating organizational staff. The Dean expressed his appreciation and pride in everyone’s efforts and creativity, which contributed to achieving the objectives of the events.
This activity reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reinforcing the university’s role in building a sustainable knowledge-based society.
