On the morning of Saturday, April 19, 2025, University of Al-Mustaqbal witnessed one of the most prominent events of the "Third International Future Sustainability Week", with the opening of the "Renewable Energy Innovation Exhibition" at the Energy Research Center, in the presence of a distinguished group of academic, scientific, and national figures.

Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi – President of University of Al-Mustaqbal
Professor Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili – Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Administrative Affairs
Professor Dr. Ali Maseer – President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate
Dr. Fadel Al-Badran – Deputy Minister of Culture
Professor Dr. Mithaq Al-Jubouri – Assistant President of the University of Babylon for Administrative Affairs
Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technological Techniques, delivered a detailed presentation on the exhibition’s content and the most notable innovations showcased. He emphasized that these projects contribute to achieving the seventh Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 7): Affordable and Clean Energy, in addition to supporting SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through building strong national and international partnerships to promote sustainability.
The most prominent innovations presented at the exhibition included:
The Smart House: A fully solar-powered model house equipped with smart energy management systems using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Renewable Energy Storage Systems: High-efficiency batteries designed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during periods of low solar radiation or cloudy weather.
Flexible Solar Panels: Innovative solar panels that can be installed on uneven surfaces, and even integrated into clothing or
Concentrated Solar Power (CSP): New designs that focus sunlight using mirrors to generate steam and produce electricity efficiently.
Solar-Powered Charging Stations: Developed models for electric charging stations fully powered by solar energy.
This event reflects University of Al-Mustaqbal’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development by supporting students and researchers and encouraging them to propose technical solutions that meet modern-day needs and serve the future of both the environment and society.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees praised the high level of organization and expressed their admiration for the scientific quality of the showcased innovations. They emphasized the importance of continuing such ambitious initiatives to build a more sustainable Iraq.
