The College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University concluded its summer training program at Al-Najaf Technical Institute, one of the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. The program, which lasted several weeks, targeted students of the Biomedical Engineering Department and came in response to labor market needs in the field of maintenance, operation, and development of medical devices. Through this program, the college sought to provide an integrated scientific and practical environment that links theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, while enhancing students’ abilities to efficiently and professionally work with the latest medical technologies. The training program covered several key areas, including: Maintenance and repair of medical devices of various types, from simple to complex. Operation of medical devices according to international standards to ensure safety and quality. Development of medical devices, introducing students to the principles of design and performance improvement. Practical training on diverse equipment such as infant incubators, centrifuges, and dental care tools, with demonstrations of their functions and maintenance basics. Students of the college demonstrated excellence during the training through their active interaction with the technical staff and eagerness to gain practical experience, reflecting the university’s commitment to preparing academic outputs capable of competing in the field of biomedical engineering. This program comes within the college’s strategy to enhance students’ skills, prepare them for successful integration into the labor market, and strengthen their contributions to the development of Iraq’s healthcare sector. It also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), which Al-Mustaqbal University strives to achieve through innovative and effective training programs.
