Department of Business Administration Holds a Seminar on the Role of Insurance in Achieving Iraq’s Development Vision 2030

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable University”, and with the supervision of Professor Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, the Department of Business Administration organized a scientific seminar in cooperation with the Iraqi Insurance Company, attended by Mr. Baha Zuhair, the company’s director, entitled: “Insurance in Iraq in the Horizon of 2030 to Promote the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.” During the seminar, the speaker discussed the importance of insurance and its vital role in supporting the Iraqi economy, with a focus on its contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in enhancing economic and social security. The seminar included lively discussions and contributions from the attending professors and students, which enriched the topic and shed light on the potential for developing the insurance sector to serve future development plans. At the conclusion of the event, the speaker expressed his appreciation to Al-Mustaqbal University for its continuous efforts in supporting sustainable development projects and promoting economic awareness. The Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjad Al-Hassoun, presented the University Shield to the Iraqi Insurance Company in recognition of its efforts to support the achievement of development goals. This seminar comes as part of the department’s efforts to achieve the first Sustainable Development Goal (No Poverty) through enhancing economic stability and developing financial protection tools.
