On the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, and under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the College of Administrative Sciences organized a scientific forum under the slogan: “Economic Sustainability and Community Empowerment: Toward a Poverty-Free Iraq,” in coordination with the Sustainable Development Division at the Presidency of the University. The forum aimed to discuss scientific visions and practical approaches to addressing the challenge of poverty, which is considered one of the most significant humanitarian and developmental issues in Iraq and the world, and to enhance awareness of the importance of empowering local communities and achieving social justice through education, innovation, and sustainability. At the beginning of the event, Professor Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the academic role in promoting the concepts of sustainable management and entrepreneurship, and in supporting student projects and community initiatives that contribute to achieving economic stability and empowering vulnerable groups. The forum included a scientific lecture titled “Economic Sustainability and Community Empowerment: Toward a Poverty-Free Iraq,” delivered by Professor Dr. Jawad Kazem Al-Bakri from the University of Babylon and Assistant Professor Dr. Essam Mohammed Abdul-Ridha from the College of Administrative Sciences at Al-Mustaqbal University, where they reviewed the key mechanisms for achieving economic sustainability and the means of empowering communities through education, entrepreneurship, and the green economy. At the conclusion of the forum, Al-Mustaqbal University presented a Shield of Appreciation to Professor Dr. Jawad Kazem Al-Bakri in recognition of his distinguished participation and contributions to supporting the path of science and serving the causes of sustainable development.
