As part of the College of Health and Medical Technologies’ efforts at Al-Mustaqbal University to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 concerning good health and well-being, an awareness campaign on organ donation was conducted by the Department of Industrial College Techniques. The campaign targeted several rural and urban areas in Babil Governorate, including Al-Rarnchiya, Ibrahim Al-Khalil, and the heart of Hillah city. The campaign was held under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College and was implemented by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Ali Mohsen, Coordinator of the Department of Industrial College Techniques, and Lecturer Muslim Muhammad Musa, with the participation of the department’s students, who contributed by distributing educational materials and organizing direct dialogues to enhance public understanding of organ donation. The campaign emphasized that organ donation is a noble humanitarian act that aligns with the teachings of Islam, which call for saving lives and helping others, based on the Qur’anic verse: "…and whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved all of mankind" [Al-Ma’idah: 32] Additionally, the campaign highlighted the dangers of illegal human organ trade, which contradicts religious and humanitarian values, stressing the importance of raising legal and medical awareness to protect individuals from exploitation and promote a culture of voluntary, lawful organ donation aimed at saving the lives of patients in need. This initiative embodies Al-Mustaqbal University’s mission to serve the community, promote health awareness, and instill values of humanity and social solidarity in line with ethical and religious principles.
