On the occasion of World Cities Day, the Department of Architecture Engineering organized an inspiring workshop titled
“Cities of the Future: The Line City Experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”,
aiming to enhance students’ awareness of sustainable urban design concepts and smart technologies in modern city planning.
The workshop highlighted “The Line” project as one of the most ambitious initiatives in the world, embodying the Kingdom’s vision of building innovative, environmentally conscious cities that redefine the concept of urban living.
During the interactive presentation, students learned about the project’s architectural design, as well as its environmental, economic, and social dimensions — broadening their understanding of the future of urban architecture.
The workshop also included a lively discussion session, where students showed great enthusiasm and shared creative ideas and insights on how to integrate smart technologies and renewable energy into the planning of future cities.
