This morning, Almustaqbal University organized an advanced workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the global company Clarivate, aiming to develop scientific research in Iraq and enhance its impact both locally and internationally.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Almustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon, along with deans, officials, faculty members, and postgraduate students from various governorates.
Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri opened the workshop with a welcoming speech, emphasizing its importance in enabling researchers to utilize global research tools such as Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports (JCR), and in promoting a culture of responsible scientific publishing.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Anas Obeid from Clarivate, who reviewed the organization’s services, explained how to distinguish between reputable and predatory journals, shared strategies to increase research citations, and provided an analysis of Iraqi research activity over the past decade.
The University President stressed that the workshop serves as a platform for dialogue and experience exchange, reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the status of Iraqi scientific research and increase its global competitiveness.
