Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and under the supervision of the Head of the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Division, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zahraa Hashim Karim, the Quality Assurance Division organized an online workshop for students of the Department of Building and Construction Engineering Technologies to introduce them to the technical engineering accreditation standards. This comes as part of the department’s preparation as one of the advanced departments seeking accreditation.
The workshop aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of technical engineering accreditation by providing a detailed explanation of the accreditation standards and requirements, and how to apply them within the department. It also clarified the students’ role in supporting the department’s efforts by adhering to rules and regulations and improving academic performance.
The workshop also addressed documentation procedures and highlighted the key indicators used in evaluation, along with an overview of the preparation stages the department undergoes during the accreditation readiness process. Interactive discussions were held with students, and their inquiries about the upcoming phase were answered.
This workshop is part of a series of awareness activities carried out by the Quality Assurance Division to promote a culture of quality and academic accreditation within the college and support departments striving for technical engineering accreditation, thereby enhancing the quality of education and meeting institutional excellence standards.
Activity Objective: To raise students’ awareness of technical engineering accreditation standards and enable them to actively support the department’s efforts to obtain academic accreditation, enhancing educational quality and achieving institutional excellence.
