Al-Mustaqbal University celebrated this morning the International Accounting Day in an academic festival held under the patronage and presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and organized by the College of Administrative Sciences, with the participation of a distinguished group of academic and professional figures, as well as students of financial disciplines. The event was attended by the Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Asaad Ghani Jihad, in addition to representatives of the accountants’ syndicates in the central Euphrates governorates, along with a number of professors and researchers. The ceremony opened with a speech delivered on behalf of the University Presidency by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, who emphasized that celebrating the International Accounting Day is an opportunity to honor a profession that represents a cornerstone in building a solid economy and reinforcing the principles of transparency and integrity. The university also highlighted its prominent research efforts and scientific forums in the financial and accounting fields, as part of its vision aimed at developing the academic environment and establishing professional partnerships that support the quality of the discipline. Afterward, the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Dulaimi, delivered a speech affirming the college’s commitment to developing its programs and building students’ capacities, praising the efforts of the teaching and administrative staff in advancing academic performance. The event included a scientific lecture titled “The Role of Accountants in Supporting Integrity and Transparency and Enhancing the National Economy”, delivered by Prof. Dr. Asaad Ghani Jihad, in which he discussed the importance of professional commitment and the accountant’s role in strengthening trust in financial systems. The ceremony also featured an artistic performance by a group of children, adding a special festive atmosphere to the occasion. The event concluded with the distribution of shields and certificates of appreciation, amid Al-Mustaqbal University’s affirmation of its continued support for financial and accounting disciplines and its efforts to enhance their role in serving the community and the national economy, in line with its vision of shaping a future marked by greater efficiency and transparency.
