An Awareness Seminar at the College of Education on the Occasion of Anti-Drug Week

As part of Anti-Drug Week activities, and with the aim of enhancing community awareness and instilling a culture of prevention among students, the College of Education organized an awareness seminar entitled: "Towards a Sustainable Drug-Free Society." The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jundi, Scientific Assistant to the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Ahmed Radwan. Dr. Jundi began his lecture by emphasizing that combating drugs is a shared responsibility among educational institutions, families, and society. He pointed out that building a sustainable society requires raising awareness of the health, social, and economic risks caused by this scourge. In his lecture, he addressed the latest statistics and studies on drug use, the factors leading to drug abuse among young people, and prevention strategies that rely on psychological and educational education, social support programs, and enhancing university students' decision-making and stress-reduction skills. The seminar also focused on the role of academic institutions in preparing a conscious generation capable of contributing to combating this phenomenon, through integrating drug awareness into student activities and relevant curricula. The seminar included interventions and questions from students, who expressed their interest in the topic, inquired about ways to protect their peers from engaging in drug use, and praised the scientific information presented by the lecturer. At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Ahmed Jundi thanked the attendees, emphasizing that achieving a drug-free society begins with awareness and grows through responsibility and community solidarity.
