In alignment with the Third Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-Being), and as part of the awareness and scientific activities organized by the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Optics Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Gaith Ali Mahmoud delivered an educational lecture entitled “The Impact of Drugs on the Eye and Society”, attended by a number of faculty members and students. The lecture highlighted the health risks caused by various types of drugs on ocular tissues and eye functions, including visual disturbances, optic nerve damage, impaired eye movement, as well as abnormal pupil dilation or constriction. Dr. Gaith also discussed the social consequences of drug abuse, such as family disintegration, decreased productivity, and increased crime rates. Dr. Gaith emphasized the importance of promoting health awareness among youth, spreading a culture of prevention, and activating the educational and health roles in combating drugs and protecting society from their dangers. Al-Mustaqbal University is ranked first among private universities.
