Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and with the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, the college organized a specialized scientific seminar entitled “Drugs: Their Effects on Oral and Dental Health, Risks, and Prevention Methods.” This event comes as part of the college’s continuous efforts to promote health awareness among its faculty members and students. The first day of the seminar was dedicated to the teaching staff, where Dr. Ali Salman delivered a comprehensive lecture discussing the physiological and behavioral effects of drug use on oral and dental health. His presentation highlighted increased rates of dental caries, periodontal deterioration, dry mouth, and the overall decline in oral health among drug users. He also addressed the broader health and psychological risks associated with substance abuse, emphasizing the importance of educational institutions in raising awareness and guiding students. The seminar also included discussions on early prevention strategies and the role of faculty members in educating students and identifying risky behaviors. This event is part of the College of Dentistry’s ongoing scientific activities aimed at fostering a responsible and health-aware university environment.
