Third-year students from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, College of
Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a field promotional campaign at Nasiriyah Refinery as part of the department’s practical training initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ hands-on skills and preparing them for the industrial work environment.
The campaign aimed to highlight the role of chemical engineers in operating refining units and managing petroleum processes, while emphasizing the importance of this specialty in supporting the energy sector. Students also provided informative presentations about their academic programs and practical applications, distributing brochures detailing the features of the major and potential career opportunities in the oil and gas industry.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by fostering experiential learning and connecting students with real-world professional environments, thereby increasing their competence and readiness for the job market.
