Under the patronage of Al-Mustaqbal University and the supervision of Prof. Sahira Qahtan Abdul-Jabbar, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division, and the follow-up of Chief Observer Amal Abbas Ubaid, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, the Department of Computer Engineering Technologies organized an awareness workshop titled: “Breast Cancer… Early Detection Means Life,” on Saturday, 22/11/2025, as part of implementing the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security – Participation and Institutional Reform Pillar / Axis Three. The workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Noor Al-Huda Hussein and Asst. Lect. Sima Mohammed Jawad, who focused on enhancing health awareness among participants and highlighting the vital role of early detection in reducing mortality rates and increasing recovery rates. The workshop included a detailed explanation of risk factors, monthly self-examination methods, and the importance of conducting periodic mammogram screenings, especially for high-risk groups. The presenters also reviewed the latest medical statistics showing that early detection increases treatment success rates by 90%. The workshop concluded with the affirmation that “Early detection is not just a medical procedure… it is a life-saving step.”
Workshop Objective
This workshop aims to enhance women's health awareness, enable them to take effective preventive measures, and promote a culture of early detection as a key method to reduce breast cancer risks, in addition to supporting Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts in community awareness as part of the National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security.
