Future University enhances its research leadership by launching the First International Conference for Advanced Science and Applications 2025 with the participation of a group of local and international researchers
In line with the trends of the University of the Future in supporting scientific research and developing innovation paths, and under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, the activities of the First International Conference on Advanced Sciences and Applications 2025, organized by the Faculty of Science, were launched today in the presence of the President of the University and the Advanced Owners and the wide participation of deans of colleges and researchers from Iraqi universities, in addition to a group of professors and experts from Iran, Libya, Kuwait, Georgia, Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman.
The opening session began with the speech of the Presidency of the University, delivered by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, in which he welcomed the guests, stressing that the conference comes at a stage that is witnessing a significant acceleration in the development of science and technology, which doubles the responsibilities of academic institutions in promoting scientific research and developing innovative solutions that serve society and sustainable development. His Excellency pointed to the great research progress achieved by the University of the Future recently, which was reflected in its distinguished results within the Times ISR classification of interdisciplinary sciences, the QS classification of sustainability, and the national classification of Iraqi universities, as well as the publication of about six thousand researches in the Scopus and Clarivate databases.
The Dean of the Faculty of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Frat Hamza, also delivered a speech in which he reviewed the objectives of the conference and its role in enhancing knowledge integration between scientific disciplines. It was followed by the speech of the Scientific Committee, which dealt with the themes of the conference and its most important research orientations. The session witnessed major scientific presentations by researchers from Al-Razi University in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which dealt with the latest developments in advanced science and its modern applications.
At the end of the opening session, the President of the University presented the conference shields to guests and researchers from outside Iraq in appreciation of their valuable scientific contributions.
The two-day conference reviews 64 scientific research in the disciplines of physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, geology, environmental sciences, life sciences and biotechnology, within the framework of the vision of the University of the future to encourage interdisciplinary research and build an interactive scientific platform that pushes innovation efforts forward.
The conference continues its two-day discussion and scientific sessions with the aim of formulating qualitative recommendations that enhance academic cooperation and support national initiatives in the fields of sustainable development.
