The Department of Accounting at the College of Administrative Sciences organized a specialized seminar titled “Ethics of the Accounting Profession.” The seminar was delivered by Professor Mohammed Mohammed Al-Tai, a certified public accountant and faculty member at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Babylon.
During the seminar, the lecturer discussed the importance of adhering to ethical standards in the practice of accounting and their role in reinforcing principles of transparency, integrity, and the protection of the public interest. He also addressed the major challenges faced by professional accountants in modern work environments.
Professor Al-Tai emphasized that professional ethics form the cornerstone of building trust between accountants and stakeholders, underscoring the importance of instilling these values in accounting students as the future generation of practitioners in the field.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the floor was opened for discussion, during which attendees presented a number of questions and comments that enriched the session. The event witnessed notable engagement from both faculty members and students.
